When not to be safe online

Today marks Safer Internet Day, a day where we remind ourselves not to be a dick online in order to avoid future embarrassment or offence.

These kind of national safety warnings are mainly aimed at those who are still naive consumers online and not those who are adding to the pool of value.

The Internet was never created for people to play it safe, which is why every year writers, musicians and other artists fully expose their true selves online in the hope to find somebody who cares enough to pay attention and maybe even pay them.

If you believe you’ve got something to give by all means give it but if you’re just adding to the noise then a warning is exactly what you need.
